Going Green

For some inexplicable reason I received green nailpolish for Christmas.  Yes this gift was received from a daughter who believes everyone should wear nailpolish.  But green for a non-nailpolisher I ask?  At any rate I figured it should be worn at least once to show appreciation for the gift.  So today and tomorrow are officially green nailpolish days.  For those of you who just don't believe I would actually do it, proof is to be found to the right.
In other news the innocent puppies have fallen in love with Les' hockey equipment.  They are showing their joy in this new relationship by ripping stuff apart.  Here is a sample of their handywork.  I hope he doesn't clip anyone with that elbow before I find some foam to repair it 'cause that could smart. Their other new hobby is herding horses.  To bad they don't herd them in the direction we want them to go.

Most important news of all...we have had a fantastic Christmas holiday.  We've all had colds of some sort or other at some point in time during the break but such is life.  We have enjoyed so many things.  If I got started counting my blessings at this point I'd still be going at it well past New Years.

It has been so fun having Grandma Ginny and Grandpa Vic (known collectively as "Grandma and Grandpa Manwaring") here.  The children have had so much fun with them.  We missed Grandma while she was away on her mission.  Getting to know Grandpa has been pretty exciting.  Emma and Grandpa sang Angels We Have Heard on High at the branch Christmas party.   The other night Ami said she loved Grandpa's cuddly hugs and good stories.  We had friends over for our annual carol sing on the 23rd and ate way to much Krub with Uncle Gerry and Aunty Barb -- whose presence was also serious contender for best Christmas gift ever.  This was our first Christmas Eve at home.  We had snacks, read scriptures, had a little testimony sharing and then put on the Christmas PJs.  Thank you so much Grandma and Grandpa Moore!  Everything fits just right.  The kids went to bed at a relatively decent time.  The parents?  Not so much so.

This picture is the result of some sort of shenanigans by Michael to help the girls stop their cheesy "Picture about to be taken" smiles.

Good time had by all.

Christmas Day we went to Grandma and Grandpa Manwaring's in the afternoon and had dinner with them, Uncle Gerry and Aunt Barb.  Grandpa made the tactical error of handing Emma the phone and she and Merinda got to know each other nine year old style.  A definite highlight for her!  I'm discovering that if you want to  keep a nine year old girl busy for a LONG time just give her a phone.  I don't know that Grandpa got the phone back...

Today we watched a fun DVD from Brian's family.  The music was great and there were some pretty fancy dance moves happening while we watched.

I'm off to find a box of Kleenex.
Cheerio!
